Description:Meet Clarice, a sweet, 2 year old Vizsla mix. We met her at an event where adoptions were being held and immediately knew she was a great little girl. We already have another female mix as well as very busy schedules which our girl has adapted to so although we took a big liking to Clarice, we felt we didn't have the time to give her the love and attention she'd need. We followed up on her status online with Palm Beach Animal Care & Control and when she wasn't online any longer, we hoped she was adopted.
Deciding to call the shelter to make sure, we surprising found out that she was adopted and returned the next day as the adopters' cat didn't like her and didn't get along with their dog. ONE DAY...not considering where this poor baby was coming from and that she may need time to settle in. She was scheduled then by the shelter to be put down. I told the shelter not to (in my head just thinking maybe I could find someone to adopt her), so they put her kill date off a couple days. This was on a Thursday evening. By Friday evening, after many phone calls and emails, still no luck and at 3pm that day, the shelter gave her till Saturday at 5pm. On Saturday when there was still no bites, we couldn't take it any more so we went and got her thinking at least we can get her out of there and maybe we can find her a home. First mission accomplished, she is alive. Now, with no experience adopting out a pet, the foster system or how this all works, we want to find her a fantastic, loving home. She is amazing, smart and loving. She loves cuddle time! Clarice is gentle, has no reaction when her ears/tail are pulled or her paws squeezed. She wanted to play with the neighbors cat (no ill reaction when the cat naturally swatted at her) and enjoyed the neighbors kids playing with her and walking her. She walks well on her leash as well as does not demonstrate food or toy aggression. She also gets along great with her foster sister, our female mixed breed. It will be so sad to say goodbye to this wonderful girl but if the right home comes along that we know has more time than we currently do, it will all be alright. Until that home comes though, she is getting cuddled right here.
